Adoption and initial feedback from healthcare organizations
Adopting new technologies in healthcare can be difficult, especially if those technologies are perceived as distracting or difficult to use. Google Cloud is already testing search capabilities with organizations including Mayo Clinic, Hackensack Meridian Health and Highmark Health. These organizations have provided their first feedback on Vertex AI research tools.
- Mayo Clinic: At this time, Mayo Clinic is not yet using the new Vertex AI research tools in clinical care, but rather is using them for administrative use cases.
- Hackensack Meridian Health and Highmark Health: Organizations have responded very positively to the research tools and already have a waiting list of over 200 use case ideas.

Google Cloud ensures that its services respect data privacy and are compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Aashima Gupta highlights the importance of simplifying the interaction between patients and the healthcare system, and looks forward to seeing how doctors will be able to use new research tools to get a more complete picture.
